CES 2027 takes place January 6-9, 2027 in Las Vegas, with media days on January 4 and 5. Registration is already open, and badge prices more than double on December 1, so the timing of your registration matters as much as the trip itself.
This guide answers the practical questions people search for before CES: what the show is, exact dates and hours, who is allowed in, what a badge costs, how media and content creator credentials work, and what international visitors need to arrange for visas and hotels.

What is CES?
CES is the annual consumer technology trade show organized by the Consumer Technology Association (CTA). Companies use it to launch TVs, laptops, phones, smart home devices, vehicle technology, robots and AI hardware, and investors use it to scout startups in Eureka Park.
The audited figures for CES 2026 give a sense of scale: 148,392 participants from 141 countries, regions and territories, 37.6 percent of them from outside the United States. More than 4,100 exhibitors filled over 2.6 million net square feet, including around 1,200 startups in Eureka Park, and 7,037 journalists, content creators and analysts covered the show. Attendee interest in AI grew 22 percent and interest in robotics 26 percent year over year.
When and where is CES 2027?
The show floor opens on Wednesday, January 6 and closes on Saturday, January 9, 2027. Monday and Tuesday are reserved for media, and CES Unveiled, the press preview where exhibitors show products ahead of the opening, runs on the evening of January 4 at the Mandalay Bay Convention Center.

CES is spread across several venues. The two main exhibit campuses are the Las Vegas Convention Center (LVCC) and the Venetian Expo; C Space, the marketing and advertising track, is based at ARIA. Free shuttles run from official CES hotels to the LVCC and Venetian Expo from January 5 to 9, and the Tech Express route connects the two main venues.
Can anyone attend CES 2027?
No. CES is a trade-only event and is not open to the general public. Registrants must be at least 18 and connected to the consumer technology industry. When you register, you choose one of three paths:
| Registration type | Who it is for |
|---|---|
| Attendee | Industry professionals, consultants, investors and anyone attending on behalf of a company |
| Media | Journalists, editors, producers, analysts, broadcasters and digital content creators covering the show |
| Exhibitor | Staff and contractors working at an exhibiting company’s booth, registered through the exhibitor dashboard |
CES 2027 tickets and badge prices
There are two attendee passes. Prices step up on December 1, 2026:
| Pass | Includes | Through Nov 30 | Dec 1 to Jan 9 |
|---|---|---|---|
| Standard Pass | Exhibit floor, keynotes, Great Minds sessions, select conference sessions | USD 149 | USD 349 |
| Premium Pass | Everything in Standard plus more than 100 additional curated sessions | USD 1,450 | USD 1,750 |
You can also add individual conference tracks to a Standard Pass; CES suggests the Premium Pass is better value if three or more tracks interest you. Exhibitors can send customer invitation codes worth USD 149 off registration, so if a partner company is exhibiting, ask them before you pay.
How to register for CES 2027
1Pick your registration type
Choose attendee, media or exhibitor. Using the wrong path is a common reason for delays, for example an exhibitor’s employee registering as an attendee.
2Prepare proof of industry affiliation
Attendees need one business document that ties them to the consumer technology industry, such as an active company website listing the company name, an invoice from the past nine months, or a business license. The company name must match the one you register with.
3Have photo ID and date of birth ready
Both are required during online registration. International visitors should enter their legal name exactly as it appears in their passport, since it is printed on the visa invitation letter.
4Add extras if you need them
Monorail passes, guided show floor tours and the CES 2027 Trends Report can be added during registration. Monorail tickets are non-refundable.
CTA has named Maritz as the only official registration vendor. Paid registrations cancelled in writing by December 9, 2026 are refunded minus a USD 50 fee; after that there are no refunds, and substitutions are not allowed for credentialed attendees and media.
Media and content creator registration
Media credentials are for people covering the show as working journalists, analysts or content creators. CES excludes publishers, sales and account managers, brand ambassadors and PR or marketing staff from media registration.
Digital content creators must submit an account report from the last 30 days that proves ownership and shows activity at or above at least one threshold, plus links to three tech-related pieces published on the same platform in the past nine months:
| Platform | Minimum threshold |
|---|---|
| YouTube | 40,000+ monthly views |
| TikTok | 50,000+ monthly views |
| X | 25,000+ followers |
| 25,000+ followers or a LinkedIn Top Voice in Technology | |
| Newsletter (Substack, Beehiiv, Ghost) | 10,000+ subscribers or 25,000+ monthly unique readers |
| Podcast | 10,000+ monthly streams |
| Patreon | 2,500+ paid members or USD 10,000+ monthly revenue |
Videographers, photographers and producers working for an approved creator register separately as Content Creator Crew, with an assignment letter from the creator. Paywalled or password-protected content may not be accepted as proof.
Visas, hotels and getting around
Most visitors from outside the United States need a U.S. visa unless they are eligible for the Visa Waiver Program, in which case they need an approved ESTA before travel. Every international registrant receives an official CES Letter of Invitation by email once their registration is approved, and the letter is meant to support the visa application.
CES recommends applying for a visa at least two months before the show. Your passport should be valid for at least six months beyond your travel date, and interview wait times at some U.S. embassies are long, so book an appointment as soon as the letter arrives.
onPeak is the only official housing agent for CES 2027. CES warns about resellers posing as official vendors and offering discounted rooms; book through onPeak or directly with the hotel. Most visitors fly into Harry Reid International Airport (LAS).
What to expect at CES 2027
The biggest keynote confirmed so far is Lenovo’s Tech World @ CES, held at Sphere on Wednesday, January 6, 2027 at 5 PM PT. Chairman and CEO Yuanqing Yang will lead the keynote, which centers on hybrid AI.
Based on the CES 2026 audit, AI and robotics are where attendee interest is growing fastest, and the CES Innovation Awards cover more than 30 categories including Artificial Intelligence, Robotics, Smart Home and Digital Health. Eureka Park will again host the startup section, and CES Foundry and C Space run alongside the main show floor.
Tips for first-time visitors
1Register before December 1
The Standard Pass jumps from USD 149 to USD 349, and international visitors need approval before they can get a visa letter.
2Plan by venue, not by brand
Moving between the LVCC and the Venetian Expo takes time. Shortlist exhibitors in the directory and give each day one main venue.
3Book meetings early
Exhibitors fill their meeting calendars weeks before the show. Request booth appointments in November or early December.
4Pack for long days
Expect to walk several kilometers a day. Comfortable shoes and a power bank make a real difference.
