1X NEO costs USD 20,000 to buy or USD 499 a month on subscription, with a USD 200 refundable deposit to reserve one. It is the first humanoid robot sold with a public price to households, which is why searches for “neo robot price” jumped after 1X opened orders in October 2025. As of October 2026, though, customers can reserve a NEO but cannot yet take delivery.
This guide covers what the price includes, how the subscription compares with buying, what NEO can do on its own and where a remote operator steps in, and which humanoid robots you can actually order today if you need one now.

How much does 1X NEO cost?
| Plan | Price | What it includes |
|---|---|---|
| Early Access (buy) | USD 20,000 one-off | Ownership, 3-year warranty, premium support, priority delivery |
| Standard (subscribe) | USD 499 per month | Robot on subscription with a starter task package; extend or return at the end |
| Reservation | USD 200 deposit | Refundable until your NEO is ready to deliver |
Prices are from 1X’s order page as reported in early October 2026. Sales tax, home setup and any optional task packages are on top. Deliveries are for the US only for now; 1X says international deliveries will follow later without giving a date.
What you get for the money
- Size: 5 ft 6 in (about 1.68 m) and 66 lb (30 kg), light for a full-size humanoid, with a soft knitted suit instead of exposed metal.
- Strength: 1X lists a lift capacity of 154 lb and a carry load of 55 lb.
- Hands: 22 degrees of freedom per hand on the order page; a 25-degree tendon-driven hand was announced in July 2026.
- Battery: about four hours per charge, and NEO plugs itself in.
- Quiet operation: 1X quotes 22 dB, quieter than most refrigerators.
- Computer and connectivity: NVIDIA Jetson Thor on board, with Wi-Fi, Bluetooth and 5G.
What NEO can and cannot do yet
1X’s demos show tidying, folding laundry, loading and unloading the dishwasher, fetching items and opening doors. For chores NEO has not learned, the owner can book an “Expert Mode” session: a 1X employee in the US guides the robot remotely while it learns the task. You approve each session by voice or in the app, and NEO’s ear rings change colour while an expert is connected.
That is the honest trade-off of buying in 2026. Part of the value you pay for is future autonomy that 1X will add through software, and part of today’s usefulness depends on remote help. Privacy-minded buyers should read 1X’s data terms, since a remote operator can see through the robot’s cameras during a session. Cooking is restricted at launch, and there is no public developer SDK.
When will NEO ship?
1X’s order page has said “US deliveries start 2026” since orders opened. Early Access buyers come first, subscribers after. In May 2026 the company confirmed first private US customers by the end of the year and has published updates from its factory in Hayward, California. As of October 2026 no first customer delivery had been announced, so a new reservation today is realistically a 2027 robot.
Buy or subscribe: the maths
At USD 499 a month, the subscription reaches the USD 20,000 purchase price after about 40 months. If you expect to keep NEO for more than three years, buying is cheaper, and you get the 3-year warranty and priority delivery. If you are unsure how useful a home humanoid will be in your house, the subscription lets you return it and limits your risk while the software matures.
For comparison, Tesla has a long-term target of USD 20,000 to 30,000 for Optimus but no order page yet (see our Tesla Optimus price guide), and Figure does not sell Figure 03 to consumers (Figure 03 price).
