1Unitree R1: from USD 6,870

R1 is Unitree’s entry humanoid, about 1.2 m tall and light enough for one person to carry. The R1 Air costs USD 6,870 and the R1 Basic USD 8,990. The R1-A5 and R1-A7 “Smart” bundles (USD 6,690 to 24,490) add arms, hands or a fixed or wheeled base for desktop and service demos. Research users should look at the R1 EDU versions, such as the R1 EDU Pro G at USD 19,800, which open up low-level control.

2Unitree G1: from USD 19,995

G1 is the humanoid most universities and labs buy. The G1 Basic (USD 19,995) walks, balances and runs Unitree’s motion library, but it is not meant for custom programming. The G1 PRO costs USD 28,950. Full development starts with the G1 EDU Plus at USD 50,950, and EDU Ultimate versions with dexterous three- or five-finger hands reach USD 67,500.

3Unitree G1-D: from USD 38,800

G1-D puts the G1 upper body on a fixed or wheeled base for lab manipulation and data collection, where walking is not needed. The G1-D Standard starts at USD 38,800; wheeled Ultimate versions run to USD 66,300.

4Unitree G1 Boxing: from USD 47,500

The boxing robots seen in Unitree’s fight events are G1 variants. The G1 Competition lists at USD 47,500 and the G1 EDU Combat Boxing at USD 63,900. They are mostly bought for events, exhibitions and robot sports leagues.

5Unitree H2: from USD 37,500

H2 is the full-size successor to H1, about adult height. The H2 lists at USD 37,500 and the H2 Basic at USD 39,900. The H2 EDU costs USD 67,995, and fully equipped H2 EDU Smart and H2 Plus Ultimate builds range from about USD 68,000 to 240,000 depending on hands and computing.

6Unitree H1 and H1-2

The previous full-size generation is still sold: H1 at USD 94,905 and H1-2 at USD 122,455. Unless you need H1 for compatibility with existing research, H2 now gives more for less.

1Go2 Air and Go2 Pro: USD 2,365 and 3,790

The consumer Go2 models are the cheapest real robot dogs you can buy. Go2 Air (USD 2,365) is controlled from the app; Go2 Pro (USD 3,790) adds voice commands, more tricks, 4G and better obstacle avoidance. Neither allows custom code; see our Go2 Air vs Pro comparison for the full difference.

2Go2 EDU: from USD 15,900

The Go2 EDU Plus opens the SDK and adds an onboard computer for research and teaching. Versions with a 3D LiDAR cost USD 18,795 to 18,900. Enterprise versions with pan-tilt-zoom cameras, such as the Go2 Ent-Mtptz, are about USD 22,700.

3Go2-W wheeled: from USD 15,199

Go2-W adds wheels to each leg, so it rolls on flat ground and walks over steps. Packages run from the Go2-W Plus at USD 15,199 to the Go2-W Inspection Package at USD 32,299.

4A2 and B2: USD 38,950 to 115,000

Basic, EDU and Ultimate: why prices jump

The same robot can cost USD 20,000 or 67,000 because Unitree splits each model into tiers:

  • Basic / Air / Pro: runs Unitree’s built-in motions and app. Good for demos and events, closed to custom software.
  • EDU: unlocks the SDK and low-level joint control, adds an onboard computer (often NVIDIA Jetson) and is the version universities need.
  • Smart, Ultimate, Plus: EDU plus dexterous hands, tactile sensors, extra LiDAR or more computing. Hands alone can cost USD 7,680 to 45,700 for H2.

If you are buying for research, budget for EDU from the start. Upgrading a Basic unit later is usually not possible, and our SDK guide explains what you lose without it.

Costs on top of the robot

  • Spare batteries and chargers: run times are one to two hours for humanoids, so labs usually buy at least one spare pack.
  • Safety gantry: recommended for humanoid development, so a falling robot is caught.
  • Shipping and import duties: lithium batteries ship as dangerous goods, which adds cost and time; see why robot battery shipping takes longer.
  • Support and repairs: check what the warranty covers before you buy; our warranty checklist lists the questions to ask.
