Emergent Pricing 2026: Plans, Credits and What You Actually Pay

Emergent pricing 2026 plans and credits

Emergent’s pricing page looks simple: a free plan, a $20 plan and a $200 plan. The number on the plan card is only part of the bill, though. Every prompt, test run and published app spends credits, so two people on the same plan can end up paying very different amounts.

Below you will find each plan with its current price, what the credits actually cover, how much it costs to keep an app online, and a few realistic monthly budgets so you can pick the plan that matches how you build.

Emergent plans at a glance

Emergent sells three self-serve plans for individuals and two custom plans for companies. These are the prices listed on emergent.sh/pricing in October 2026.

The free plan is a sandbox. It lets you build and preview, but publishing to a live URL and connecting a custom domain start on Standard. GitHub sync is also a paid feature, which matters if you want to own and move your code later.

Emergent used to sell a $300 Team plan with 1,250 shared credits. That plan is gone. Teams now go through the Business tier, which is quoted after a demo call.

How Emergent credits work

Credits are the real currency on Emergent. Chatting with the agent, generating code, running the built-in tests, fixing bugs and deploying all draw from the same balance. Emergent does not publish a fixed price per prompt; a small text change may cost a few credits, while asking the agent to build a full feature with a database and authentication can cost far more.

  • Monthly credits expire. Whatever is left at the end of the billing cycle is lost.
  • Top-up credits do not expire. They are sold at about $0.20 per credit, the same rate as the Standard plan, with packs starting at 250 credits for $50.
  • Work pauses at zero. Emergent does not bill overages. When your balance runs out, the agent stops until you top up or your plan renews.
  • Pro’s heavy modes burn faster. Ultra thinking and the high-performance agent runs use more credits per task than a standard run.

On a per-credit basis Standard and top-ups both work out to $0.20. Pro is slightly more expensive per credit, around $0.27 monthly or $0.22 billed yearly. You pay that premium for the 1M context window, custom agents and stronger reasoning, not for cheaper credits.

Publishing and hosting costs

This is the part most pricing summaries skip. Once an app is published, Emergent charges a fixed monthly hosting fee in credits. The fee depends on the server size you pick.

Publishing tierCredits / monthApprox. costResources
Starter50~$100.05 vCPU, 200 MB RAM
Launch125~$250.5 vCPU, 2 GB RAM
Grow225~$451 vCPU, 4 GB RAM
Scale450~$902 vCPU, 8 GB RAM
Elite1,100~$2204 vCPU, 16 GB RAM

A minimum of 50 credits is needed to start any published app. Republishing, rolling back and switching tiers are free. For a landing page, a booking form or an internal tool with a handful of users, the Starter tier is usually enough. Apps with real traffic or heavy database work will need Launch or Grow.

What a real month costs

Three common situations, using Emergent’s listed prices:

1Trying it out: $0

You stay on the free plan, use the 10 credits to build a prototype and preview it inside Emergent. Nothing goes live, and you never enter a card.

2One small live app: about $20 to $30

Standard gives you 100 credits. A Starter hosting slot takes 50 of them, leaving roughly 50 credits for edits. If you build actively, expect to add a $50 top-up now and then.

3Freelancer or agency: $200 to $300

Pro’s 750 credits cover regular client builds plus two or three hosted apps on the Grow tier. Busy months usually need extra top-ups on top of the $200.

Which plan should you choose?

  • Free if you want to see whether Emergent understands your idea before paying anything. Read our guide on how far the free plan really goes.
  • Standard if you have one app to launch, need a custom domain and want GitHub access. Billed yearly, it costs $204 a year.
  • Pro if you build several apps a month, need custom agents or work on large codebases where the 1M context window helps.
  • Business or Enterprise if several people need access with SSO, permissions and audit logs.

A practical rule: start on Standard monthly, track how many credits a typical week of building takes, and only then decide whether yearly billing or Pro makes sense. Our guide to Emergent discounts covers the other ways to keep the bill down.

Frequently asked questions

How much does Emergent cost per month?

Emergent has a free plan with 10 credits a month. Standard costs $20 a month for 100 credits and Pro costs $200 a month for 750 credits. Business and Enterprise plans are priced on request.

Is Emergent cheaper if I pay yearly?

Yes. Annual billing brings Standard down to $17 a month (a $36 saving per year) and Pro down to $167 a month (a $396 saving per year).

Do unused Emergent credits roll over?

Monthly plan credits expire at the end of each billing cycle. Credits you buy as top-ups do not expire, which makes them the safer option for irregular usage.

How much does it cost to keep an Emergent app online?

Publishing is billed in credits each month. The smallest tier costs 50 credits a month, roughly $10 at top-up rates, and larger tiers go up to 1,100 credits a month.

Is there an Emergent team plan?

The old $300 Team plan has been replaced by a Business plan with custom pricing, which adds SSO, role-based access and shared workspaces.
