Chinese Humanoid Robots: The Brands Leading Production and Models You Can Buy (2026)

Chinese humanoid robots cover with Fourier, EngineAI and Kepler robots

China now produces more humanoid robot models than any other country. Dozens of companies, from Unitree in Hangzhou to UBTECH in Shenzhen and a cluster of Beijing and Shanghai start-ups, are shipping walking and wheeled humanoids to universities, factories and showrooms. Many of them are also the ones with public prices, which is why Chinese models dominate the list of humanoids you can actually buy.

This guide introduces the Chinese humanoid robot makers that matter in 2026, what each is known for and which models are on sale. Prices are Robots store list prices checked on 16 October 2026.

Why China leads in humanoid robots

  • Supply chain: motors, gearboxes, batteries and sensors are made close to the robot makers, which cuts cost and development time.
  • Policy support: national and city programmes in Beijing, Shanghai, Shenzhen and Hangzhou fund humanoid research, testing centres and pilot deployments.
  • Price competition: start-ups compete on price as well as performance, which pushed entry humanoids below €10,000.
  • Fast iteration: many companies release new versions every year and update walking software over the air.

Races, games and public demos

Chinese makers use public events to show progress. In April 2025 Beijing hosted the first humanoid robot half marathon, where the Tien Kung Ultra finished first among the robots. In August 2025 Beijing held the World Humanoid Robot Games with running, football and boxing events. Spring Festival TV shows have also featured dancing Unitree robots. These events are marketing as much as engineering, but they show how fast walking and balance have improved.

Buying a Chinese humanoid

  • Buy through a distributor: warranty, spare parts and language support are easier through a local partner than direct import.
  • Check the version: basic, EDU and pro versions differ in software access and hands. See why SDK access matters.
  • Check compliance: CE marking for Europe, FCC and electrical safety for the US. See buying a robot in Europe.
  • Ask about data: check where app and cloud data is stored if the robot connects online.
  • Budget: for the most affordable options, read cheapest humanoid robots.
